Lee R Nowell
EditBorn and raised in Hixson, Tennessee, Lee R. Nowell migrated to NYC at the age of eighteen to train on a talent-based full scholarship with The Joffrey Ballet School. He danced with The Joffrey Ballet in Petrouchka at the New York City Center in the Spring of 1990. In the ensuing years, Mr. Nowell also performed with The Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, Lake Erie Ballet, Northwest Florida Ballet, Chattanooga Ballet, La Crosse Ballet, Houston Ballet, Pacific Dance Ensemble, and Kin Dance Ensemble, among others. He regreted leaving dance in January of 2000 due to injuries, but he now enthusiastically pursues a second career in law with a full academic scholarship as a Regents Scholar at UCLA. In addition, Lee recently founded the non-profit group Potluck Cafe in Pasadena, which provides essential assistance to international students new to the U.S. He headed this organization for several years.
