Jennifer Owen

Jennifer Owen, now in her second season with BalletMet for, has danced with Hong Kong Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Moscow Renaissance Ballet, Russian State Ballet and, as a guest artist, National Ballet of Turkmenistan. A native of Seattle, she studied at Pacific Northwest Ballet School on full scholarship, and with the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, School of American Ballet and San Francisco Ballet. Over a seven-year span she also created eight new works for Kansas City Ballet’s “In the Wings” Choreographic Workshop, and she received a 2000 Princess Grace Honorarium. Her favorite roles include the title character in Giselle, George Balanchine’s Tchaikovsky pas de deux, and the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker.
