Bruce Padgett

Edit

After his retirement from dance in 1995, he immersed himself in the art of painting. The line, beauty, sense of grace and expression achieved in the physical world of ballet is a constant theme throughout his work. What has emerged from these images can best be described as ā€œAustere Solitudeā€?, compositions of solitary figures in stark surroundings, embraced by light stemming from a natural or artificial source. The beauty of light being absorbed into the skin gives the paintings and drawings their rich color and depth as well as their mood and intensity. Not only are these images mere figures in light, they also reflect the human condition. Bruce Padgett has worked on several commissions and has sold many of his most personal work . His paintings now hang in homes located in New York City, Texas, Massachusetts, and Tennessee.
