In 1994 he moved to California and joined the San Francisco Ballet where he performed both classical and contemporary repertory in San Francisco and on tour throughout the world. While creating work for The Foundry he also worked with Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet from 2000-2002 as both a dancer and choreographer. In 2002 he left LINES in order to be a Wattis Artist in Residence at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts where he created both an installation and a full-length piece for the center’s Bay Area Now Festival. In 2003 his second commission from Hubbard Street 2 Chicago premiered for the main company’s Inside/Out program. In 2003 he also worked on a new project with choreographer Charles Moulton, and brought The Foundry to The Yard for a residency in Chillmark, Mass.
